Who We Are
My name is Mark McDowall, Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). For the past sixteen years, I’ve proudly specialised in supporting the childcare sector with tailored accountancy and compliance services.
Our Story
My career began in accountancy roles across diverse industries — shipping, advertising, and charities — where I gained broad financial management experience and a strong foundation in handling complex accounts.
I later moved into the childcare sector, working as a financial controller in a large college facility with a business arm supporting a substantial nursery operation. This role gave me deep insight into both educational and commercial childcare services, and highlighted the unique financial challenges providers face.
These experiences inspired me to establish Accountancy Kids, a practice dedicated to supporting childminders, nurseries, and childcare businesses with specialist accountancy and compliance services.
